The Final Year
Transitioning from a structured, brief-led workflow to the open-ended nature of a self-directed final project required a mindset shift.
However, by leaning into my core strengths and creative passions, I found focus through rigorous research and iterative design. This process ultimately led me to the GSA archives and the photography collection of the late Robert Trotter, a Dumbarton-born actor. I felt an immediate resonance with his work, discovering a shared affection for Glasgow's character and landscape.

Interactive Design & Curation
Through intuitive touchscreen navigation and a minimalist user interface, the interactive experience allows users to explore ten selected works from Robert Trotter’s Sing the City collection. To deepen engagement, the archival images are enhanced with subtle motion graphics that direct the viewer's attention to key structural and compositional elements within each photograph
Immersive Audio Engineering
To create an immersive sensory environment, each visual is paired with authentic, location-specific audio. This field-recorded soundscape was captured on-site at the original photography locations and meticulously edited to replicate the precise acoustic atmosphere of the era in which the image was taken.
Motion Graphics & Preservation
The animation process required a rigorous interrogation of each photograph's composition. Rather than applying generic motion, specific visual effects were engineered to highlight the unique focal points of each piece. This deliberate approach brings the static imagery to life while carefully preserving the historical integrity and artistic intent of Trotter's original photography.
